Solution Architect Databricks and APIs
Our Global CCO Domain is looking for a Solution Architect specializing in Azure Solutions – including both Databricks and APIs, to join our team!
The candidate will assist in developing the Solution Architecture and Designs for our Uniform API Layer using Microsoft Azure and our Commercial Effectiveness Reporting environment utilizing Databricks.
Responsibilities:
- Solution Design: Create solution designs for complex business scenarios involving APIs and a large Data environment utilizing Databricks, both areas have interactions across multiple application systems with various cloud environments and customers.
- Team Leadership: Motivate, inspire, and facilitate functional teams of solution architects and developers, ensuring alignment with application and API and Data Management architectures and adherence to Reference Architectures.
- Community Building: Establish a Community of Practice for fellow architects and senior developers to share knowledge on Azure applications, API architecture, and Data Management.
- Enterprise Collaboration: Actively contribute improvements to Enterprise Architecture by closely cooperating with Enterprise Architecture and peer architects.
- Model Maintenance: Ensure the baseline Architecture and API architecture are up-to-date and meet DLL ArchiMate modeling standards.
- Trend Monitoring: Keep track of modern trends in API and Cloud architecture.

Day to day:
- Databricks/Data Solution Architecture and Design: Work with the product owner and scrum team to deliver features involving a complex Databricks and reporting environment that have clear solution architecture design and business value; as well as technical solution designs.
- API Solution Architecture and Design: Work with the product owner and scrum team to deliver features involving Uniform APIs that have clear solution architecture design and business value; as well as technical solution designs related to the API Infrastructure.
- Thought Leadership: Serve as a thought leader on Application and API architecture, staying aware of the latest technology and best market practices, and supporting and coaching peer architects.
- Agile Delivery: Work comfortably in an Agile delivery model, ensuring fast delivery of the investment portfolio while achieving strategic objectives, this role aligns closely with developers on a scrum team.
- Quality Assurance: Be accountable for the quality of applications and APIs by providing professional guidance and performing quality assurance activities.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with management, conveying complex processes and IT subjects in senior management terminology.
- Coaching: Coach peer architects and developers, stimulating their professional development and driving the adoption of architecture within the team.
- Continuous Learning: Maintain an outside-in view focused on the customer, ensuring the domain’s solution architecture anticipates market developments and customer needs.

Essentials:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Information Science or related technical field.
- Certified for TOGAF ©, ArchiMate © (preferred)
- Azure Databricks Experience:
- Strong experience in data architecture and design
- Understanding of implementation of architecture within Azure Big Data Analytics Al tools.
- +3 years in Designing and Architect solutions in Azure Data factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Datalake, Delta Lake and Azure synapse analytics implementation.
- +3 years’ experience in Azure cloud technologies like PySpark, Synapse, ADF, Databricks, Python, Scala and SQ
- API Experience:
-
- Thorough understanding of application architectures on various application platforms, API-first mindset, Event-driven, Microservices and SOA technologies and practices.
- 5+ years of experience in Application and API Architecture preferably in the financial industry, including Cloud-native application development and lifecycle management.
- Experience with microservices architecture, SOAP and RESTful (API) services.
- Excellent communication in speech and writing in English.
- Broad understanding of strategy and architecture modelling standards.
- Thorough understanding of financial industry including business models and processes.
- Experience with programming languages such as .NET, C#, Java and Python.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management, CI/CD, Application health and performance Monitoring, Logging etc.
- Experience with application development on hybrid cloud platforms like Azure, AWS.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and protocols such as the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP);
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database management
